On August 18, 2026, GreenTea VPN announced its global node count surpassed 120 across 38 countries and regions — the largest infrastructure expansion this year.
Node coverage directly determines user choice. Some users reported fewer options in Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe with peak-hour congestion. This expansion targets those weak spots.
New nodes focus on three regions: 8 in Southeast Asia, 6 in Europe, 4 in North America. Southeast Asia serves cross-border e-commerce and gaming, Europe supports remote work and academic access, and North America handles high-bandwidth demand.
More nodes directly thin out per-node load. Official data shows peak-hour average load fell 28% and cross-border latency dropped about 15%. An e-commerce seller said: "Southeast Asia nodes used to queue; now it connects instantly and communication is smooth."
The expansion also improves resilience — when one node fails, the scheduler reroutes traffic to adjacent nodes faster, further stabilizing connections.
The team says expansion is long-term, not a one-off. The next phase targets 150+ nodes, prioritizing South America and Africa where coverage is thinner.
"Nodes are the foundation; the sturdier the foundation, the more stable the experience." — GreenTea VPN infrastructure lead

Peak-hour latency is noticeably lower.
Europe nodes are stable — remote work improved a lot.
Looking forward to South America nodes next.
More Southeast Asia nodes — no more queueing for e-commerce.
